Thin Armenian lavash itself does not have special taste qualities, but it is an indispensable basis for preparing a huge number of all kinds of snacks. Catch 15 most delicious recipes!
1. Lavash appetizer with salmon and curd cheese
An appetizer with soft cheese and slightly salted salmon in pita bread should definitely be prepared for the festive table.
You will need: 2 thin pita bread, 200 g salmon, 250 g curd cheese, 1 bunch lettuce, 0.5 fresh cucumber.
Cooking: Spread cling film, lay pita bread on top, brush with curd cheese, cover with lettuce and cheese. Cover with a second pita bread, spread it with curd cheese too, distribute thin pieces of fish and cucumber, roll into a tight roll, fix with a film. Before serving, remove the film, and cut the roll into pieces.
2. Hot appetizer of lavash and chicken hearts
An inexpensive appetizer that can even be served to important guests at a celebration.
You will need: 6 Armenian lavash, 400 g chicken hearts (ventricles can be added), 150 g hard cheese, 2 eggs, 0.3 bunches of green dill and green onions.
Cooking: Grind the offal boiled until tender in a blender, mix with grated cheese, chopped herbs and green onions, salt to taste. Cut pita bread into elongated triangles, brush with whipped egg white, put a spoonful of filling on one edge, roll into a tube, fry in oil until golden brown.
3. Lavash roll with crab sticks
A light snack of pita bread and crab sticks, which can be prepared on the eve of the holiday, and then simply cut into pieces and served at the table.
You will need: 1 sheet of pita bread, 250 g crab sticks, 4 hard-boiled eggs, 2 cucumbers, 3-4 tbsp. l. mayonnaise, 3 cloves of garlic, herbs.
Cooking: Mix grated eggs, cucumbers, crab sticks and garlic, add herbs and mayonnaise. Cut the Armenian flatbread in half, cover both parts with stuffing, put one on top of the other and roll into a tight roll, helping yourself with a film.
4. Lavash chips
Crispy homemade pita chips can be sprinkled with garlic, herbs, ground paprika or sesame seeds.
You will need: 3 pita bread, 250 ml sour cream, 150 g hard cheese, 1-2 tbsp. l. additives with different flavors: dried herbs, granulated garlic, ground pepper, etc.
Cooking: Divide the sour cream into three parts, mix with the selected fillers, spread the pita sheets with the resulting sauce. Cut into triangles, put in the oven for 10 minutes.
5. Lavash roll with fried mushrooms
A very hearty appetizer made from pita bread, which can be served both cold and warm.
You will need: 5 round pita breads, 1 kg of mushrooms, 1 onion, 230 g of hard cheese, spices, 2 tbsp. l. milk.
Cooking: Cut the onion and mushrooms into small cubes of the same size, fry in oil until cooked, season with spices, add cheese. Cover the sheets of pita bread with cheese and mushroom filling, brush with milk before serving and put in the oven for 10 minutes.
6. Hot appetizer of pita bread with cilantro
Lavash baked with cheese and herbs is suitable not only as a snack, but can also be a healthy snack or breakfast dish.
You will need: 6 pita bread, 1 bunch of cilantro, 0.3 bunch of green onions, 6 sprigs of dill and parsley, 300 g of hard cheese.
Cooking: Mix grated cheese with herbs. Cut each sheet of pita bread into wide strips, put a couple of spoons of the filling and wrap it with an envelope. Fry until golden brown in oil.
7. Lavash roll “Mimosa”
The filling for this pita snack will be canned fish in oil – saury, mackerel, pink salmon or tuna.
You will need: 1 thin pita bread, 1 canned fish, 3 hard-boiled eggs, 100 g hard cheese, 3 tbsp. l. mayonnaise, dill.
Cooking: Lubricate the pita bread with mayonnaise, put grated eggs, mashed fish with a fork, chopped dill and grated cheese along one edge. Roll the pita bread into a tight roll, turning the sides inward, wrap with cling film and put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
8. Lavash appetizer with melted cheese

You will need: 2 thin pita bread, 220 g of processed cheese and boiled chicken, 1 bunch of parsley, 2-3 tbsp. l. mayonnaise.
Cooking: Mix boiled chicken meat and grated cheese with herbs and mayonnaise. Cover the pita bread with half of the filling, wrap it in a roll, cut into pieces with a sharp knife and fry them in oil on both sides. Do the same with the remaining pita bread and filling.
9. Lavash triangles with sausage and cheese
Crispy ruddy pita bread with pieces of sausage and melted cheese – what could be tastier for breakfast?
You will need: 2 thin Armenian lavash, 100 g of any sausage, 100 g of hard cheese, 0.25 bunch of parsley, 3 tbsp. l. butter.
Cooking: Mix chopped greens and grated cheese and sausage. Cut pita bread into strips 10 cm wide, brush each with melted butter, put the filling on the edge. Put one corner on the sausage with cheese, continue to fold the strip, hiding the filling in pita bread. Fry until golden brown in vegetable oil.
10. Lavash roll with Korean carrots
Another appetizer roll made from pita bread, and as a filling you will need Korean carrots, processed cheese and eggs.
You will need: 1 pita bread, 200 g Korean-style carrots, 2 processed cheeses, 2 hard-boiled eggs, 3-4 tbsp. l. mayonnaise, dill.
Cooking: Mix Korean-style carrots with grated processed cheese and boiled eggs, add mayonnaise with chopped dill. Spread the filling over the entire surface of thin pita bread, roll into a tight roll, wrap with foil.
11. Snack “cakes” from pita bread
A spectacular and at the same time budget dish will be the best substitute for sandwiches for breakfast, lunch or for a holiday.
You will need: 2 sheets of pita bread, 3 eggs, 220 ml of mayonnaise, 400 g of chicken fillet and champignons, 1 bunch of greens, 150 g of cheese.
Cooking: Separately, fry the chopped mushrooms, onion and chicken fillet until cooked, then mix everything together, season with spices. Lavash cut into 10×10 cm squares, put in metal muffin molds (baskets), put two squares in each, brush with mayonnaise, fill with stuffing. Pour the sauce of beaten eggs with mayonnaise, bake in the oven, sprinkle with cheese and herbs.
12. “Roses” from pita bread with curd filling

You will need: 1 sheet of pita bread, 200 g of cottage cheese, 50 ml of cream, a handful of pitted olives, herbs, olive oil.
Cooking: Whisk all ingredients, except for pita bread and olives, in a blender, season with spices. Lubricate the cake with the filling, roll it into a tight roll, cut across, decorate with thin rings of olives, inserting them into the filling in a spiral.

For a snack: 4 thin pita bread, 500 g lightly salted or smoked red fish.
For sauce: 250 g cream cheese, 0.5 cups sour cream, herbs, 0.5 tsp. granulated garlic, 1 tbsp. l. lemon zest, 0.5 tsp sea salt.
Cooking: Cover one sheet of pita bread with a spread of the products indicated for the sauce whipped in a blender. Cover with a second sheet, spread the sauce again, but in a very thin layer, lay out the fish slices, again pita bread, a thick layer of spread and pita bread. Cut with a sharp knife into small squares, stack on top of each other and secure with skewers.
14. Quick “pizza” from pita bread with brie cheese
Spicy and spectacular appetizer of pita bread at home!
You will need: 1 thin pita bread, 150 g brie cheese, 2 tomatoes, 2 tbsp. l. sour cream or mayonnaise, 0.5 bunch of dill.
