
In the spring, blooming irga surprises with a honey aroma, and in July it already generously shares the harvest. Useful preparations for the winter are cooked from these small dark purple fruits. Today we’ll talk about shadberry jam. Here are 20 great recipes!
1. Jam from shadberry through a meat grinder

Lids are just as important to sterilize as jars.
You will need: 2 kg of irgi, 800 g of sugar.
Cooking: Pass the prepared irgu through a meat grinder. Add sugar, mix and leave for 20-30 minutes. Boil for 15 minutes, spread the jam in clean jars and roll up.
2. Jam from shadberry in 5 minutes

A great way to quickly cook delicious jam for the winter.
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 500 g of sugar.
Cooking: Rinse the irgu, pour boiling water over it and leave it under the lid for 2-3 minutes. Drain the berries in a colander and let drain. Pour irgu with sugar and put aside for 2-3 hours. Put on a slow fire, boil the jam for 5 minutes, put it in a prepared container and roll it up.
3. Jam from shadberry with blackcurrant

Berries pre-sort and clean from dry tails.
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 1 kg of blackcurrant, 1 kg of sugar.
Cooking: Rinse the irgu, pour boiling water over it and cover with a lid for 2 minutes. Drain the berries in a colander and let drain. Add sugar, blackcurrant and set aside for 1 hour. Boil twice for 5 minutes, taking a break until it cools completely. Spread hot jam in clean, dry jars and roll up.
4. Jam from shadberry with citric acid

You can cook from fresh or frozen shadberry.
You will need: 3 kg of irgi, 1 kg of sugar, citric acid on the tip of a knife.
Cooking: Pour the washed irgu with sugar and remove for 2-3 hours so that the juice appears. Put the pan with the berries on the fire, boil for 5 minutes and put aside to cool. Add citric acid, boil the jam for another 5-7 minutes, arrange in jars and roll up.
5. Irga, grated with sugar without cooking

Sprinkle jam in jars with a layer of sugar.
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 1 kg of sugar, citric acid on the tip of a knife.
Cooking: Rinse the irgu and dry it thoroughly. Grind the berries in a blender, add sugar, citric acid and mix. Arrange in clean, dry jars, tightly close the lids and store in the refrigerator.
6. Jam from shadberry with gelatin

Sheet gelatin is much more convenient to work with.
You will need: 2 kg of irgi, 1 kg of sugar, citric acid at the tip of a knife, 25 g of gelatin, 150 ml of boiled water.
Cooking: Pour gelatin with water and put aside for 15 minutes. Sort out Irgu, rinse and grind in a blender. Add sugar, citric acid and boil for 5-7 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, cool slightly, add the gelatin blank and mix. Arrange the jam in sterilized jars and roll up.
7. Thick jam from shadberry with pectin

Pour hot jam into jars in small portions.
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 500 g of sugar, 10 g of pectin.
Cooking: Pour the prepared irga with half the sugar and leave for 2-3 hours. Boil over low heat for 20 minutes, add the remaining sugar mixed with pectin, and cook for another 10 minutes. Fill sterilized jars with hot jam, roll up and turn upside down.
8. Jam from shadberry with pepper and lemon

An unusual combination of citrus aroma, sweet berries and the sharpness of black pepper.
You will need: 2 kg of irgi, 1 lemon, 1 kg of sugar, ground black pepper on the tip of a knife.
Cooking: Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice. Mix the washed irgu, sugar, lemon juice and cook for 15 minutes over low heat. Pour ground pepper, mix and after 2 minutes put into prepared jars. Roll up the jam and wrap it for a day with a thick towel.
9. Jam from shadberry without sugar

Especially for those who follow the figure!
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 1 glass of water.
Cooking: Put the prepared irga into a saucepan with a thick bottom, fill it with water and boil for 30 minutes. Fill sterilized jars with hot jam, roll up and leave for a day in a warm place.
10. Jam from shadberry with apples

Rinse the crushed apples with salted water and they won’t turn brown.
You will need: 2 kg of irgi, 1 kg of apples, 1.5 kg of sugar, 0.5 tsp citric acid.
Cooking: Peel apples from seeds, chop and mix with prepared irga. Sprinkle with sugar and leave for 2-3 hours at room temperature. Boil for 10 minutes, turn off and put aside to cool. Put the pan on the fire, add citric acid and boil for another 5 minutes. Spread the jam in the prepared container and roll up.
11. Jam from shadberry with honey

This jam should be stored in a cool place.
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 500 g of liquid honey, 1 liter of water.
Cooking: Pour the washed irgu with water and boil for 30 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, cool, add honey and stir. Arrange the jam in sterilized jars and roll up.
12. Jam from shadberry with lemons

Lemon juice should be about 120 ml.
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 2 lemons, 1 kg of sugar.
Cooking: Cut the lemons in half and squeeze out the juice. Pour boiling water over Irgu and cover with a lid for 20 minutes. Drain the water, add sugar and boil for 10 minutes. Grind the mass with an immersion blender, add lemon juice and boil for another 5 minutes. Spread hot jam in clean, dry jars, roll up and wrap for a day with a warm towel.
13. Jam from shadberry with cranberries

One spoonful of this delicacy contains a shock dose of vitamins.
You will need: 1 kg of irgi, 500 g of cranberries, 1 kg of sugar, 200 ml of water.

14. Jam from shadberry with cherries

15. Raspberry, shadberry and black currant jam

The amount of sugar can be reduced if desired.
You will need: 1 kg of raspberries, 1 kg of shadberry, 1 kg of blackcurrant, 2 kg of sugar, 0.5 tsp. citric acid.
Cooking: Pass the washed berries through a meat grinder, mix with sugar and boil for 20 minutes. Remove from fire and cool. Add citric acid, boil for 5 minutes and arrange in a prepared container. Roll up, turn the jars upside down and wrap for a day with a thick towel.
16. Jam from shadberry with grapes

Any grape variety will do.
You will need: 2 kg of irgi, 1 kg of grapes, 1 kg of sugar, juice of half a lemon, 1 liter of water.
Cooking: Grapes pour boiling water, boil for 5 minutes, put in a colander, cool and wipe through a sieve. Mix the resulting puree with irga and sugar. Boil for 15 minutes and put aside to cool. Bring to a boil again, add lemon juice, boil for 5 minutes and roll up.
17. Jam from shadberry, gooseberry and cherry

You should not cook more than 5 kg of jam at a time, quality often suffers from this.
You will need: 2 kg of irgi, 1 kg of gooseberries, 1 kg of cherries, 2 kg of granulated sugar, citric acid at the tip of a knife.

You will need: 2 kg of shadberry, 1 kg of honeysuckle, 1 kg of sugar, 0.5 tsp. citric acid.
Cooking: Irgu and honeysuckle are placed in a saucepan with a thick bottom and covered with sugar for 2 hours. Boil twice for 10 minutes. At the last cooking, add citric acid. Spoon the hot jam into clean, dry jars and roll up.
19. Jam from shadberry, gooseberries and oranges

You will need: 2 kg of irgi, 1 kg of gooseberries, 3 oranges, 2 kg of sugar.
