
Traditional English cuisine is not well known to us, and in vain. After all, it is rich in interesting finds, including desserts. For example, this time we want to introduce you to trifle – a layered dessert based on biscuit, cream and a fruit layer. We share the best recipes!
1. Classic English trifle

You will need any ready-made biscuit, you can even store it.
You will need: 100 g biscuit, 4 tbsp. berry jam, 150 ml sherry or sweet wine, 60 ml Scotch whiskey, 1 orange, 220 g raspberries, 500 ml cream, 6 tbsp. powdered sugar, 40 g almond flakes.
Cooking: Cut the biscuit into pieces, brush with jam and leave for half an hour. Put into glasses. Mix the sherry, whiskey and orange juice, and pour the biscuit. Wait until it’s absorbed.
Whip the cream with powdered sugar and add the remaining jam. Spread the cream over the biscuit. Garnish the trifle with raspberries, almond flakes and orange zest.
2. Chocolate trifle

And for this trifle, we suggest preparing a biscuit yourself.
You will need: 3 eggs, 120 g sugar, 20 g cocoa, 90 g flour, 60 ml milk, 40 ml vegetable oil, 1 tsp. baking powder, 500 ml 33% cream, 80 g condensed milk, 500 g berries, 100 g chocolate.
Cooking: Mix sifted flour, cocoa and baking powder. Beat the eggs with sugar until fluffy foam, add the dry mixture, pour in the milk and stir. Add butter, pour the dough into a mold and bake the biscuit in the oven for 40 minutes at 180 degrees. When the biscuit has cooled, cut it randomly.
Whip the cream to peaks, add condensed milk and whisk again – this is cream. Lubricate the bottom of the mold with it, spread out the pieces of biscuit and the berry on top. Continue alternating layers to the end and pour melted chocolate on top of the biscuit.
3. Trifle with mascarpone and fruit

Mascarpone cheese is perfect for the trifle base.
You will need: 200 g cookies or biscuit, 100 ml sweet wine, 2 bananas, 100 g currants, 2 eggs, 50 g sugar, 200 g mascarpone.
Cooking: Break the biscuit or biscuit, put it in glasses and fill it with wine. Beat the bananas with currants with a blender and pour on top of the cookies. Beat egg yolks with sugar, add mascarpone and beat again. Beat egg whites separately and fold into cream. Lay out the cream with the last layer and send the trifle to the refrigerator.
4. Trifle with cookies and frozen berries

A quick version of a delicious English dessert made from the simplest and cheapest ingredients.
You will need: 200 g cookies, 200 ml 33% cream, 200 g frozen berries, 100 g sugar.
Cooking: Add 50 ml of water to the berry, bring to a boil and rub through a sieve. Add half the sugar, bring the mass to a boil and cook for 10-15 minutes over medium heat. Cool the finished caramel. Break the cookies, and whip the cream into foam with the remaining sugar. Spread it all out nicely in layers in cups.
5. Cherry trifle with savoiardi

Savoiardi biscuits are another time-tested and practiced basis for homemade trifles.
You will need: 150 g pitted cherries, 30 g sugar, 1 tbsp. starch, 1 tbsp. water, 6 savoiardi cookies, 150 ml 33% cream, 2 tbsp. powdered sugar.
Cooking: Mix sugar with cherries and bring to a boil. Dissolve starch in cold water, pour in the same and boil for another minute. Whip the cold cream with powdered sugar until fluffy. Pour the savoiardi, cherry filling and cream into glasses and repeat the layers.
6. Trifle with custard and grapes

For this trifle recipe, we recommend using a chocolate biscuit or cookie.
You will need: 200 g biscuit or biscuits, 150 g seedless grapes, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla, 60 g butter, 2 tbsp. sugar, 200 ml of milk.
Cooking: Cut the biscuit into pieces, and cut the grapes into halves. Whisk the egg with sugar and vanilla. Separately, heat the milk and pour in a thin stream into the egg, stirring. Put on the stove and boil the cream until thickened, and at the end add butter. Lay out layers of biscuit, grapes, cream – and so on several times.
7. Banana trifle

Before serving, leave the finished trifle for an hour in the refrigerator so that it is sufficiently soaked.
You will need: 300 g sponge cake, 2 bananas, 300 ml 33% cream, 2 tbsp powdered sugar.
Cooking: Whip the cream with sugar into a fluffy foam, chop the biscuit into crumbs, and mash the banana with a fork. Add a spoonful of cream to the banana puree and mix. Lay out layers of banana, biscuit, cream – and so repeat until the end of the ingredients.
8. Trifle with strawberries and curd cream

Thanks to the curd cream, the trifle is even softer and lighter.
You will need: 3 eggs, half a glass of sugar, 3 tbsp. lemon juice, 0.5 tsp zest, half a glass of flour, 15 g butter, 1 cup 33% cream, 125 g curd cheese, 80 ml sherry, 40 g white chocolate, 80 g strawberry jam, 200 g strawberries, 50 g powdered sugar.
Cooking: Beat eggs with sugar until white, add a spoonful of lemon juice and zest. Add sifted flour and melted butter. Beat again, pour the dough into a mold and bake a biscuit for about 40 minutes at 170 degrees in the oven. Cut the biscuit.
Whip the cream to peaks. Separately, beat the cottage cheese with powdered sugar and the remaining lemon juice, and combine both masses. Cut strawberries into slices and mix with jam. Rub chocolate. Lay out layers of strawberries and biscuit. Drizzle the biscuit with sherry, put the curd cream on top and repeat the layers to the end. Sprinkle the trifle with grated chocolate.
9. Walnut trifle with caramel

Instead of caramel syrup, you can use regular or salted caramel.
You will need: 300 g chocolate biscuit, 100 g walnuts, 200 g caramel syrup, 200 ml 33% cream, 50 g powdered sugar.
Cooking: Roast the walnuts and chop. Grind the sponge cake into crumbs, and whip the cream with powdered sugar into a fluffy foam. Lubricate the forms with caramel syrup, sprinkle with nuts, biscuit crumbs and cream – and so repeat the layers to the end. Let the trifle sit in the refrigerator.
10. Coffee trifle with oranges

For coffee trifles, we recommend using instant coffee – it gives a brighter taste and aroma.
You will need: 3 tsp instant coffee, 2 cups of water, 15 g of gelatin, 3 eggs, 1 cup of flour, 270 g of sugar, 10 g of baking powder, 2 oranges, 500 ml of 35% cream, 1 pinch of soda, 40 g of butter.
Cooking: Soak gelatin in a small amount of water, and heat the remaining 2 cups of water with 20 g of sugar until dissolved. Add coffee to the syrup, and then gelatin, warm it up, cool it down and send it to the refrigerator for a couple of hours. Cut the cooled jelly into cubes.
Mix the sifted flour with soda and baking powder, and beat the whites to peaks with 25 g of sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat the yolks with the remaining sugar and butter. Add flour to them, mix and carefully introduce the protein mixture. Pour the dough into a mold and bake the biscuit for half an hour at 180 degrees in the oven, and then cut into cubes when it cools down.
Cut the oranges into slices, and whip the cream into a fluffy foam, optionally also with sugar. Arrange all the ingredients nicely in glasses or molds in random order.
11. Trifle “Tiramisu”

Instead of heavy cream, you can take thick sour cream – also very tasty.
You will need: 150 g biscuits, 100 ml strong coffee, 350 ml 33% cream, 200 g mascarpone, 4 tbsp. powdered sugar, cocoa.
Cooking: Slice biscuits and soak them in strong coffee. Whip cream with powdered sugar and mascarpone until fluffy. Put it all in layers in cups and sprinkle with cocoa.
12. Trifle “Three chocolates”

Not just a dessert, but a real work of art!
You will need: 200 g biscuit, 90 g dark chocolate, 90 g milk chocolate, 90 g white chocolate, 180 ml 33% cream, 3 proteins.
Cooking: Melt all types of chocolate separately in a water bath. Whip the cream into a fluffy mass, divide into three parts and mix with chocolate. Beat egg whites with icing sugar until stiff peaks and also divide into three parts and mix with chocolate. Crush the biscuit into crumbs. Put in layers in cups: biscuit, dark, milk and white chocolate cream.
13. Trifle Snickers

This trifle is interesting, first of all, with several types of creams at once.
You will need: 300 g sponge cake, 350 g curd cheese, 200 g boiled condensed milk, 50 g peanuts, 420 g 33% cream, 40 g powdered sugar, 150 g sugar, 30 g butter, a pinch of salt.
Cooking: Beat cottage cheese with condensed milk until smooth. Separately, beat 300 g of cream and powdered sugar until fluffy. Heat the rest of the cream almost to a boil.
Separately, melt the sugar and cook the caramel until a beautiful amber color over low heat. Pour hot cream into it, add butter and mix. Just crush the biscuit and peanuts. Lay out in layers: biscuit, curd cream, peanuts, caramel and whipped cream, and so on until the end of the ingredients.
14. Nutella trifle

This trifle can be easily and quickly prepared even for breakfast.
You will need: 300 g cookies, 400 ml Greek yogurt, 130 g Nutella, 400 g berries or fruits, 2 tbsp. chopped walnuts.
Cooking: Crush cookies into crumbs. Randomly chop berries or fruits. Layer cookies, berries and yogurt, and alternate until the end. Top with nuts and nutella.
15. Apple trifle

An interesting variation of EnglishTrifle with applesauce.
You will need: 150 g biscuit, 5 apples, 100 g sugar, 50 ml water, 200 ml 33% cream, 100 g walnuts.
Cooking: Cut the peeled apples into pieces, add sugar and water and boil until soft. Grind apples in puree, add spices if desired and let cool. Separately, grind the biscuit with nuts in a blender, and whip the cream into a lush foam. Arrange apples, cream and crumbs in cups in layers.
