How many ways do you think there are to cook fish in batter? We have found at least 15, and are ready to share these recipes. Different products and spices – and now you can pamper your household at least every day!
1. Fish in sour cream batter
Let’s start with an airy and crispy batter on sour cream, thanks to which the fish remains very juicy.
You will need: 300 g fish, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp. sour cream, 100 ml of water, salt.
Cooking: Separate the whites from the yolks, beat the whites into foam, and mix the yolks with water and sour cream. Add flour to the yolks and slowly carefully introduce the protein mass. Sprinkle fish with spices to taste, dip in batter and fry in a pan.
2. Fish in batter with mayonnaise
Mayonnaise batter is very tender and literally melts in your mouth.
You will need: 500 g fish, 200 g mayonnaise, 200 g flour, 3 eggs, half a lemon, spices.
Cooking: Cut the fish into portions, sprinkle with lemon juice and sprinkle with spices. Mix mayonnaise with eggs and gradually introduce flour until the consistency of a thick pancake dough. Dip the fish in batter and fry on both sides.
3. Fish in batter on kefir
This batter is best suited for white fish.
You will need: 600 g of fish, 1 egg, 50 ml of kefir, 1.5 tbsp. flour, spices.
Cooking: Cut the fish into pieces, mix with spices and leave for 15 minutes. Beat the egg with kefir with a whisk, gradually add flour and let the batter stand for a while. Dip fish in it and fry.
4. Fish in milk batter
The main thing here is to mix the batter so that there are no lumps in it at all.
You will need: 500 g fish, 200 ml milk, 200 g flour, 3 eggs, spices.
Cooking: Beat the eggs with warm milk and gradually add the sifted flour. Cut the fish into slices, roll in spices, and then in batter, and fry.
5. Red fish in batter
And now we share a recipe that is better suited for red fish!
You will need: 500 g fish, 1 tbsp. mayonnaise, 1 tbsp. flour, a pinch of sugar and salt, spices, 75 ml of water and milk, 2 eggs, 1 tbsp. lemon juice.
Cooking: Brush the fish with a little oil and marinate in spices and lemon juice for an hour. Heat water with milk and mix them with beaten eggs. Add mayonnaise, spices and flour, mix the batter well and leave for half an hour in the refrigerator. Roll red fish in it and fry.
6. Fish in batter on carbonated mineral water
To make the batter even more airy, add a pinch of soda.
You will need: 500 g fish, 2 eggs, 1 cup flour, 2/3 cup carbonated mineral water, a pinch of soda, spices.
Cooking: Leave the mineral water in the freezer for a while so that it cools down as much as possible. Mix half of the water with eggs, add spices, soda and flour. And then gradually bring the batter to the desired consistency with the remaining water. Dip fish in it and fry.
7. Fish in onion-garlic batter
It turns out flawlessly on regular yogurt without additives.
You will need: 500 g fish, 4 garlic cloves, 1 onion, 100 ml yogurt, 1 egg, 3 tbsp. flour.
Cooking: Beat in a blender or grate onion and garlic, mix with yogurt and add a beaten egg. Lastly, add the flour to a comfortable consistency, roll the fish in batter and fry.
8. Fish in batter with soy sauce
Soy sauce will never ruin a fish dish!
You will need: 400 g fish, 2 eggs, 3 tbsp. soy sauce, spices, flour.
Cooking: Beat eggs with soy sauce and spices, and then add flour to the consistency of thick sour cream. Dip the fish in batter and fry on both sides.
9. Fish in protein batter
For this recipe, you will only need egg whites, and use the yolks in another dish.
You will need: 500 g fish, 4 proteins, 3 tbsp. flour, salt, 1 tsp water.
Cooking: Beat egg whites with salt until foamy, add water with flour and mix. Gently dip the fish pieces in the batter and fry in a skillet over medium heat.
10. Fish in lean batter
Recipe without milk and animal fats for those who fast.
You will need: 400 g fish, 1 cup flour, 2 tbsp. vegetable oil, 0.5 cups of water, spices to taste.
Cooking: Take ice water and mix with flour, and then gradually add oil with spices. Dip fish pieces in batter and fry in a pan.
11. Fish in batter with cheese
Almost like fish pies!
You will need: 800 g fish, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp. flour, 100 g cheese, spices.
Cooking: Beat eggs with flour and spices, and add grated cheese there. Cut the fish fillet into portioned pieces and roll well on both sides in batter, and then fry.
12. Fish in batter with nuts
Here is such an original version, from which everyone will be delighted.
You will need: 500 g fish, 3 garlic cloves, 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 cup nuts, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp. flour, spices.
Cooking: Rinse the fish, cut into portions and marinate for half an hour in lemon juice with garlic and spices. Grind the nuts in a blender, and beat the eggs separately. Dip each piece of fish in flour, egg, and then roll in nuts and fry.
13. Fish in lemon batter
Fish with lemon juice is a classic. But for a change, we suggest adding it not to the marinade, but to the batter.
You will need: 600 g fish, 180 g flour, a pinch of sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, spices, 1 egg, 150 ml of water and lemon juice.
Cooking: Mix 120 g flour with sugar, baking powder and spices. Whisk the egg, water and half the lemon juice, and stir into the dry mixture. Cut the fish into pieces, dip in the remaining lemon juice, then in flour, and then in batter, and fry.
14. Fish in batter with vodka
Yes, don’t be surprised. It is enough to try once to make this batter become a favorite!
You will need: 400 g fish, 4 tbsp. flour, 1 egg, 100 ml mineral water, 2 tbsp. vodka, spices.
Cooking: Beat the egg well with water and slowly add the sifted flour. Lastly, pour in the vodka and let the batter stand for 15 minutes. Roll the fish in spices, then in the dough, and fry.
15. Fish in wine batter
Be sure to take white wine, and preferably dry.
You will need: 700 g fish, 3 eggs, 120 g flour, 5 tbsp. wine, spices, lemon juice.
Cooking: Cut the fillet into pieces, sprinkle with lemon juice and roll in spices. Whisk the eggs, gently mix them with the wine and add the sifted flour. Dip fish in batter and fry until tender.
