It is difficult to imagine a lighter, low-calorie and healthy dish than steamed chicken cutlets. They are chosen by those who care about proper nutrition or strive to lose weight. Each of these 10 recipes can be prepared simply by steaming or in a slow cooker.
1. Quick steamed chicken cutlets
Let’s start with the classic recipe for homemade steam cutlets.
You will need: 500 g chicken, 1 egg, 1 onion, 1 piece of white bread, 50 ml milk, spices.
Cooking: Cut the crust off the bread and soak it in milk. Pass the chicken and onion through a meat grinder or chop in a blender – whichever you prefer.
Add an egg, spices to the minced meat and add lightly squeezed bread to the same place. Mix everything until smooth and steam the cutlets for about 20 minutes.
2. Steam chicken cutlets with rice
You can stick them in the form of ordinary meatballs or round meatballs.
You will need: 300 g of chicken, 0.5 cups of rice, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, herbs, spices.
Cooking: Rinse the rice well several times and boil it until half cooked. Pass the chicken through a meat grinder or chop in a blender.
Finely chop the garlic, spices and onion and mix them with the minced meat. Add spices, knead again, form patties with wet hands and steam for 25 minutes.
3. Chicken cutlets with steamed spinach
A great way to cook healthy oatmeal and spinach without anyone guessing!
You will need: 1 kg chicken, 600 g spinach, 2 eggs, 10 tbsp. oatmeal.
Cooking: Pour fresh spinach with boiling water for 3-5 minutes, let the liquid drain and cut it as small as possible. Grind minced meat and add spinach and eggs to it.
Grind oatmeal a little too, but not to the state of flour. Add them to the minced meat, mix and put in the refrigerator for an hour, and then form cutlets and steam for 20-25 minutes.
4. Chicken cutlets with steamed zucchini
The amount of semolina varies depending on the desired consistency of minced meat.
You will need: 500 g chicken, 1 onion, 200 g zucchini, 5 tbsp. semolina, 1 egg, spices.
Cooking: Grate the zucchini and squeeze lightly. In the same way, grate the onion on a fine grater, and add the vegetables to the minced chicken.
Mix the minced meat with egg and semolina, cover with a film and leave it for 20 minutes until the cereal swells. Shape into medium-sized patties and steam for about 20 more minutes.
5. Steamed chicken cutlets with carrots
For a richer orange tone, add a pinch each of turmeric, curry and paprika.
You will need: 1 kg of chicken, 1 carrot, 1 onion, 2 slices of white bread, 60 ml of milk, spices, 1 egg.
Cooking: Cut off the crust of the bread, break it open and soak in milk for a couple of minutes. Pass the chicken through a meat grinder with onions, and add bread there
Grate the carrots on a fine grater and stir into the minced meat. At the end, add the egg and spices, and if it turns out too liquid – a spoonful of flour or starch. Shape into patties and steam for about 25 minutes.
6. Steamed chicken cutlets with mushrooms
In addition to mushrooms, you can add a little suluguni or processed cheese to the minced meat.
You will need: 600 g chicken, 200 g mushrooms, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. starch, spices, 2 cloves of garlic.
Cooking: Pass the chicken through a meat grinder, and chop the onion and mushrooms with a knife as finely as possible. Fry the onion with mushrooms until golden, cool slightly and add to the minced meat.
Squeeze the garlic there, add the egg and a spoonful of starch, and mix everything well until smooth. Shape into small patties and steam for 20 minutes.
7. Chicken cutlets with steamed cheese
Any hard, pickled or processed cheese, and even cottage cheese, will do.
You will need: 500 g chicken, 120 g cheese, 1 egg, spices.
Cooking: Grind the chicken in a meat grinder through a fine mesh. Sodium cheese on a coarse grater or cut into small cubes and mix with minced meat. Add the egg and spices there, form small cutlets and steam for 25 minutes.
8. Steam chicken cutlets with potatoes
These cutlets do not even need a separate side dish!
You will need: 1 kg chicken, 4 potatoes, 2 onions, spices, 20 g butter, 1 tbsp. sour cream, 1 egg, flour.
Cooking: Grind raw potatoes with onions in a blender until smooth. Pass the chicken through a meat grinder and mix with vegetables.
Add sour cream, softened butter, egg and a little flour to the minced meat for consistency. Knead it all together, formcutlets with wet hands and steam for up to 30 minutes.
9. Chicken cutlets with steamed tomatoes
For a unique flavor, we recommend adding a spoonful of smoked paprika.
You will need: 500 g chicken, 1 onion, 1 pepper, 1 tomato, 1 bunch of herbs, 1 egg, spices.
Cooking: Cut all the vegetables into small cubes and chop the greens. Pass the chicken through a meat grinder and mix the minced meat with everything else. Add the egg and spices there, mix gently again and form small cutlets. Steam them for 20-25 minutes.
10. Chicken cutlets with steamed cabbage
By the way, instead of ordinary cabbage, you can use cauliflower or broccoli in the same way.
You will need: 500 g chicken, 200 g cabbage, 1 carrot, 1 onion, 2 eggs, spices, salt.
Cooking: Pass the chicken through a meat grinder, and chop the vegetables in a blender as finely as possible. Mix both masses, add eggs with spices and knead the minced meat well.
If the minced meat is too liquid, add a little flour, semolina or oatmeal. Shape into patties and steam for about 25 minutes.
